Marvel Rivals Season 3 is finally here, and trust me—you don’t want to miss this one. With the powerful new hero Phoenix soaring into the roster, a fiery and symbiotic collection of battle pass skins, and NetEase dropping an actual full seasonal roadmap for the first time ever, there’s a lot to unpack. Whether you’re here for ranked grinding, chasing skins, or just vibing with friends on Klyntar, this is the most content-rich update since launch.
Let’s dive into what’s new, what’s worth your Chrono Tokens, and why this season might just set a new standard for live-service superhero shooters.

Season 3 kicks off with a serious bang—Jean Grey, aka Phoenix, has landed as the newest Duelist in Marvel Rivals. And yes, she’s every bit as overpowered as fans hoped. I’ve played a few matches already, and her kit feels like a perfect blend of aggressive poke damage and team utility.
Phoenix brings heat—literally. Her passive allows her to build up damage stacks with each hit, triggering a fiery AoE explosion on every third hit. This makes her deadly when enemy teams clump up. Her Ultimate, a devastating dive bomb, deals massive burst damage and then teleports her right back to where she launched it from. It’s flashy, satisfying, and deadly in the right hands.
What really caught my attention, though, is her new Team-Up with Wolverine called Primal Flame. Once triggered, it buffs Wolverine’s Primal Leap with flame damage and grants him lifesteal. In a meta already favoring brawlers, this combo is going to be a game-changer in ranked.

Alongside Phoenix, we’re also getting a brand new Domination map—Klyntar: Celestial Husk. This map is straight-up gorgeous and terrifying, dripping with symbiote structures and narrow corridors that are perfect for flanking or AoE attacks.
I’ve already tested Phoenix and Spider-Man here, and the tight spaces make it ideal for heroes who can pressure grouped enemies or control chokepoints. It’s a solid map that adds a fresh layer of strategy, and I can already see it shaking up competitive play.
Let’s talk skins—because Season 3’s Luxury Pass is absolutely stacked. NetEase has blended Phoenix Force glam with symbiote chaos, creating some of the best cosmetics we’ve seen in Marvel Rivals yet.
The battle pass features 10 new skins across 12 unlockable pages. You’ll need to earn and spend Chrono Tokens to unlock each page and its rewards—even with the Luxury Pass active. That premium track will run you 990 Lattice, or roughly $10 USD, but you’ll get some Lattice and other currencies back as you progress.
Here are some of my personal highlights from the Season 3 pass:
Each page requires anywhere from 1,200 to 13,200 Chrono Tokens to unlock, with most major skins costing 400 Tokens each and additional emotes, sprays, and nameplates available for 200 Tokens apiece.

For the first time ever, NetEase has revealed a full Season 3 roadmap, and it’s genuinely exciting to see this level of transparency. Here’s what you can look forward to in the coming weeks:
It’s time to hit the beach—superhero style! Starting July 18, Marvel Rivals is diving into summer fun with swimsuit-inspired skins for Punisher, Loki, Luna Snow, Psylocke, and Thor. This will coincide with the Summer Party Event, where at least one skin is expected to be unlockable via gameplay challenges.
As a bonus for comic fans, players who purchase the “Marvel Swimsuit Special: Friends, Foes & Rivals #1” will receive a redeem code for a special Thing “Unlimited” skin. It’s a great blend of in-game and real-world perks.
To celebrate the premiere of The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 24, Marvel Rivals will introduce MCU-inspired costumes for Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and Thing. A special bundle is likely, so keep your Chrono Tokens ready.
Even better, there’s a new Team-Up coming for Thing and Human Torch, which may introduce new synergy or buff mechanics. This also means Torch’s current Team-Up with Storm is being phased out—a smart move to keep the meta fresh.
Just before Season 3.5 hits, we’re getting new Phoenix-themed skins outside the battle pass. Magik gets her cosmic moment with a jaw-dropping Phoenix Force design, while Black Panther takes on a fiery look that’s said to rival his “Golden Panther” suit in the pass. These are expected to be legendary-tier, likely with premium effects and animations.
Want a killer skin without spending a dime? The Milano Repair Logs event is live now, and it’s your ticket to unlocking the Symbiote Storm skin for free! Just complete in-game challenges—like collecting health packs or playing specific matches—and you’ll gradually earn progress toward this event-exclusive reward.
This is one of the more rewarding events we’ve seen in Marvel Rivals, especially for F2P players looking to grab premium cosmetics without opening their wallets.

Watch your favorite Marvel Rivals streamers and unlock Twitch Drop rewards—including a sleek pink & blue Hawkeye skin, plus sprays and MVP screens. It’s a great way to earn cosmetics while staying entertained.
If you’re a student, you’re in luck. NetEase is offering 10 trial costumes and MVPs throughout Seasons 3 and 3.5—just for verifying your college status. This initiative is part of the new Marvel Rivals College Perks program.
Season 3 also debuts character accessories—cosmetic add-ons you can equip on top of existing skins. Think Deadpool plushies, Jeff handbags, and more. You’ll earn Accessory Points just by playing, so don’t forget to visit the new Accessory tab in your loadout.
With Season 3’s launch, competitive ranks have been reset. If you hit Diamond I last season, expect to start from Gold II this time. This soft reset gives everyone a fair shot at climbing the ladder again.
New ranked rewards are also available—including the sleek Phoenix – Emerald Flames skin for reaching Gold before Season 3 ends. Don’t sleep on this one—it’s a fiery flex for your profile.
Season 3 introduces some key hero balance changes that are already shaking up the meta:
Plus, Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, and Hela all get new Team-Ups, giving even more ways to experiment with strategies.

Marvel Rivals Season 3 feels like the game’s first truly complete live service drop. From the addition of Phoenix and a thematic battle pass, to the season-long roadmap, free skins, and accessory system, there’s something for every kind of player.
If you’ve been on the fence about jumping in—or coming back—now’s the time. Whether you’re grinding ranked, collecting skins, or just here for the events, this season brings more value, more content, and more hype than anything we’ve seen from Marvel Rivals yet.
