At IFA 2019, Asus had everyone’s attention by unveiling a lot of new products. Asus ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition caught everyone’s fancy. It is a special edition model of Asus ROG Phone 2 with a special matte black paint job and 1TB of UFS 3.0 storage. Along with that Asus also unveiled Vivowatch SP smartwatch with ECG, ability to track your stress level and blood pressure.
Asus ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition comes with LTE Cat.20 connectivity and other specifications of the gaming smartphones. It houses Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC along with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It is premium priced at EUR 1,199 (roughly ₹95,200) and is available for pre-order. The shipping starts on 20th September.
Asus ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with HDR10 support and full-HD+ resolution. It also sports 240Hz touch sampling rate with a fast 120Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. To unlock the device there is an in-display fingerprint scanner and it also carries front-firing stereo speakers. The new ROG Phone 2 has a massive 6,000 mAh battery and 4.0 fast charging support. This gives you a long-lasting phone that can go on for approximately two days of usual usage.
Another revelation from Asus that bagged everyone’s attention is Asus Vivowatch SP smartwatch. Along with ECG capabilities, it also has Medical-grade ECG sensors that are on the sides and PPG Optical Sensors at the back. With the help of these sensors, users can track their stress levels, blood pressure and heart rate. It has a TFT Full-colour display with Gorilla Glass but the exact size of the display is still unknown. Its anti-fingerprint coating helps in keeping the smudges off the body and a ceramic bezel.
The smartwatch also comes with a built-in altimeter and GPS to track altitude and trecks. You can also use it to track oxygen saturation through the Pulse O2 monitor that comes with the smartwatch. It offers 14 days of battery life and is waterproof up to 5ATM. Asus is planning to launch it in the fourth quarter of this year.
After revealing Asus ROG Phone 2 Ultimate Edition at IFA 2019, seems like Asus has taken up its premium game by a notch. It will be interesting to see what Asus will have coming next.
